My skin is a little red from the benzoyl peroxide, should I continue using the product?

I used the neutrogena advanced soultions acne therapy system last night. I put the benzoyl peroxide cream on my forehead and nose. Then when I woke up this morning my forehead and nose were slightly red due to irritation. It did help clear up my pimples though. Is this normal and should I continue using the cream, or is my skin too sensitive?

Sounds like your skin is getting a bit irritated from it…

I’d give your skin a break for a day or two and then continue using the benzoyl peroxide after the redness subsides.

But, it’s normal for most people to experience some redness/dryness when they first start using benzoyl peroxide. Some people are actually even allergic to it and turn really red and itchy.

Just be careful and use it in moderation. Blobbing on more won’t make your pimples go away any faster. It’ll just dry up your skin so when your skin is feeling irritated, give it a break for a few days to rest up and heal.

Good luck!
